Springmont's CommUNITY Dinner

Dear Families,

It was wonderful spending time together at Saturday’s CommUNITY Dinner, an event that celebrates both our diversity and shared humanity. We had a packed house, a selection of delicious food from around the world, and amazing entertainment! Congratulations to Brandice Camara, our Art Teacher, and Ayanna Talton and Stefanie Freinkel, our Music Teachers, on a wonderful program highlighting the talents of our students as well as exemplifying the theme of peace, love, and harmony. There is no better way to soothe the soul than through love and connection, and we had plenty of both on Saturday night!

THANK YOU to all of the people who helped with setting up the dining room and buffet area, guiding students through the program, organizing the food, cleaning up, and loading and unloading the truck. Thank you to all the families who attended and brought delicious dishes to share. A special thank you to Marie-Laure Coste Dujols (Le Jardin Francais) for donating the beautiful flowers and to John Mansour for taking the remaining food to Clifton Sanctuary, a shelter that puts it to good use each year.

I hope to see you at our Auction on Saturday, April 26!

Marianna’s Upper Elementary class is taking our 2025 Auction’s masquerade theme to heart as they decorate masks representing their individual heritages and cultural backgrounds. The masks will be mounted to create a beautiful and priceless (!) group display up for bid at our annual auction on April 26th! Get your event tickets and book those sitters today!

As part of the research being done by two Upper Elementary students in preparation for their 6th-year project to be presented in May, three members of the Sandy Springs K-9 unit visited campus last week! The students are seeking information about all kinds of dogs – those that serve on K-9 units, service dogs, and pet dogs – comparing their intelligence, obedience, and abilities and differences based on breed and training. Researching topics of personal interest is a hallmark of the Springmont Elementary program!
