CURRENT OPENINGS

AMI Elementary-trained Division Head

Springmont is seeking an AMI Elementary-trained Division Head to begin as early as January 2023. Compensation for this 10-month, full-time, salaried position is highly competitive and commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package that offers health, vision, and dental insurance, paid time off, and professional development and retirement savings opportunities. Hours are 7:45-4:30 daily, plus attendance at school events that may occur outside school hours. 

Division Heads support faculty and staff in serving the school's mission and implementing programs related to the school's growth plan. Springmont's Elementary Division Head oversees 3 Lower Elementary and 2 Upper Elementary classrooms and the Specialists that support Elementary children. Responsibilities include pedagogical consistency in the school's Elementary program and development and support of the Elementary faculty and staff, as well as compliance with AMI and SAIS standards, goal setting and improvement plans for Elementary faculty and staff, and the management of annual standardized testing. Partnerships with the Admission office and other Division Heads for the program's continued success and providing educational guidance and support for enrolled families are vital components of the role.

Qualifications include an AMI Elementary diploma, at least 5 years of classroom experience in an AMI Elementary classroom, and a bachelor's degree in education. Candidates should be committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment, eager to provide warm and nurturing guidance and mentorship, and prepared to work collaboratively and efficiently to meet deadlines. They should possess a keen sensitivity to current events, strong interpersonal and effective verbal and written communication skills, a growth mindset, and a deep sense of mission and purpose aligned with Springmont's culture and core values.

Toddler Assistant & Floating Primary Assistant

Springmont is currently seeking a Toddler Teacher’s Assistant and a Floating Primary Assistant to begin immediately.  The Toddler position is a full-time position (Monday-Friday 7:15 am – 3:15 pm) with compensation commensurate with experience.  The Floating Primary position is also a full-time position (Monday-Friday 9:30 am – 5:30 pm) with compensation commensurate with experience, beginning at $16 hourly. Both include a comprehensive benefits package including health, vision and dental insurance, paid time off, and professional development and retirement savings opportunities.

Springmont's Assistants support the Teacher’s work in the classroom and assist children with lunch, napping, toileting, and outdoor play. Assistants collaborate with Teachers to create a nurturing and caring Montessori classroom community where freedom of choice, routines and clear expectations allow young children to flourish.

Ideal candidates are warm, reliable, organized, and flexible and possess good written and verbal communication skills and facility with technology. Experience with children is preferred. Previous experience in a Montessori environment is not required; however, candidates must be willing to learn about the nuances of a Montessori environment and implement them throughout the workday. Afterschool Assistant

Springmont is seeking an Afterschool Assistant to begin immediately.  This is a part-time position (Monday-Friday 2 - 6 p.m.) with compensation starting at $16/hour.

The Afterschool Assistant supervises Elementary-aged students enrolled in our Extended Day and Enrichment programs. Responsibilities include recording attendance, serving snacks, supervising indoor and outdoor play, monitoring social interactions between students, and providing a warm, nurturing environment for students who stay after school.

The ideal candidate is patient, reliable, organized, and flexible. Experience with children is preferred. Classroom Substitutes

Springmont is currently accepting resumes for Classroom Substitutes to work with children in our Toddler (18 months – 3 years), Primary (3 - 6 years), Elementary (6 - 12 years) and Middle School (12 - 14 years) classes.  Prior experience working with children of various ages is essential and a working knowledge of Montessori education is preferred.  Flexibility is a must.
