Have you ever wondered how students can work on so many different things at once in Montessori classrooms? • Montessori offers students long, uninterrupted blocks of time to delve deeply into their learning. Students move at their own pace, take significant responsibility for their learning, and benefit from time to concentrate without having to switch gears. • Classrooms are meticulously organized, so children don’t have to constantly ask an adult for permission, instructions, or help. Most Montessori materials are "self-correcting," allowing children to problem-solve independently, and multi-age groupings allow older students to help their younger classmates. • Teachers move through the classroom observing, giving targeted lessons, and tracking which concepts children are mastering and where they might need a gentle nudge. The quiet hum of engaged and joyful learning is extraordinary! #montessori #montessorielementary #joyfullearning #loveourschool

Do you remember learning about volume in Elementary school? If you weren’t a Montessori student, you probably memorized formulas and solved teacher-written word problems. At Springmont, students begin learning about volume by pouring liquids and exploring the Pink Tower and Brown Stairs at the Toddler and Primary levels. As they progress into Elementary classes, students still use concrete materials, but they begin transitioning to abstract understanding and representing their work on paper. Matching learning to developmental readiness is one of Montessori's greatest gifts! #montessori #montessorielementary
