Click here for our Key Information Parent Handbook - This is a wonderful source of information and should be read by all parents, new and returning.

Springmont Parent Association (SPA) News - We're delighted to let you know that parents Elizabeth Keromytis and Kristin Maiwand will continue in their roles as SPA Co-Chairs for the 2023-24 school year!  They look forward to helping our parent community make connections with the school and each other and will work closely with the administration to make sure the school has the volunteers it needs for our community events. We hope all parents will become involved and consider chairing an event! SPA holds monthly meetings - the dates are noted on the school calendar on our website, and reminders are included in Springmont's weekly email newsletter. If you are eager to get involved, make sure to join the Springmont Parent Association Facebook group - This Facebook page is not affiliated with the official Springmont Facebook page but is a forum where parents can connect, share resources, ask questions, etc.

News from Classrooms - A letter from your child's Teacher was sent to class families Monday, July 24. These letters included lots of helpful, class-specific information such as a list of any supplies needed, notes about classroom procedures, food allergy information, and the names of class Room Parents along with the Teacher's email address. Elementary & Middle School Strings Program

July 31, 2023
By Julie Strickland

We're excited to offer Strings instruction for Elementary & Middle School students!  This program, included in tuition, takes place before school (7:30-8:15 a.m.) in the Fine Arts Cottage and is run by Music Teacher Dr. Carissa Gibson. Those interested should email Carissa indicating interest and instrument preference (violin, viola, or cello) no later than Monday, August 14.

  • A schedule based on interest will be developed and shared, with once-weekly instruction beginning August 21.
  • In order to ensure all participants make the most progress, Springmont's Strings Program has a strict attendance policy – students may not miss more than 3 sessions per semester.
  • Springmont provides instruments and supplies, but students will be asked to provide their own all-black concert attire.

Beginning Strings - (Limited to 12 students on a first-come, first-served basis) - This class is open to Elementary students who have not played before. Students may elect to play the violin, viola, or cello, based on availability. Students will work on posture and technique and be able to play a simple piece at our May 2 recital. Regular attendance is required as it is important for learning and growth.

Intermediate Strings - This class is for returning students who would like to continue their Strings studies. Students will work on technique, scales, and pieces and will perform at our December 7 and May 2 recitals. Regular attendance is required as it is important for learning and growth.

Chamber Orchestra - Advanced students will be invited to join our Chamber group. Regular attendance is required as it is important for the group to have all members present for each class. Students will perform at our December 7 and May 2 recitals.

Early Morning Care & Extended Day Options

July 31, 2023
By Julie Strickland

Primary Half Day and Primary School Day students may be enrolled in before-school care (Early Morning Care) in the Media Center 7:30-8:15 a.m. for $10/day. (Before-school care for All Day Primary students is included in All Day tuition and provided in the student's classroom.)

Springmont offers Elementary & Middle School students before-school care (Early Morning Care) in the Media Center 7:30-8:15 a.m., and after-school care (Extended Day) 3:00/3:15-6:00 p.m. Elementary and Middle School families may select from 2 payment options:

  • The first is a flat fee of $4320 for the entire school year – this allows a student to use Early Care 7:30-8:15 and Extended Day 3:00/3:15-6:00 as much as needed for the one annual fee, which can be added to your payment plan now. With this plan, parents do not have to register their children in advance, and children enrolled in this option are automatically sent to Extended Day rather than carpool at the end of each school day. If you did not select this plan during Annual Registration/Enrollment and would like to add it to your Elementary or Middle School student's enrollment, please email Andrea Restifo by August 14.
  • The second is a daily option.  Parents may register their child (by 6 a.m. daily) as needed for Early Care ($10/day) and/or Extended Day ($15/hour billed in 15 min increments).  Families are billed monthly for the time used.  Fall Early Care and Extended Day Registration is now open and is also offered via a link in Springmont Weekly News throughout the school year.
