Join Springmont Counselors Ann and Katie for Coffee with the Counselors

Please join Ann Van Buskirk and Katie Polanco for Coffee with the Counselors on Wednesday, October 2nd, beginning at 8:45 a.m.

As students and families settle into the routine of the school year, Ann and Katie are pleased to offer an informal opportunity for connection. This month, we will focus on supporting our children and each other in the wake of recent tragedies, school shootings, elections, and other events in the news. How do we support resiliency in the face of trauma and sow seeds of hope in times of chaos?

All Springmont parents and caregivers are welcome to attend and bring questions or thoughts for discussion.

If you can, kindly click the link in Springmont Weekly News to RSVP by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1st, so we can plan for seats and breakfast treats!

Stop by the Pavilion for Nathalie’s Class Bake Sale tomorrow (Fri, Oct 4), beginning at 3:15! Students have baked Maple Snickerdoodles, Pumpkin Loaves, Spooky French Loaves, and Buttermilk Rosemary Bread. Proceeds from bake sales are reinvested in baking supplies, and profits are periodically donated to causes selected by the students. We are so happy that our students see beyond themselves and want to lead socially useful and purposeful lives!

Primary afternoon students were delighted with today's visit from New York Times Bestselling Children's Picture Book Illustrator AG Ford. He showed how his illustrations are derived from basic shapes we can all draw and allowed the children to make cover art suggestions for a future book! He also read his latest book, Garbage Truck to the Rescue! A few autographed copies are still available – contact Media Center Specialist Leslie Wachter.
