Dear Springmont Families, 

On the weekend of October 26th, my husband and I went to the Landschool for the volunteer work weekend, and it reminded me of so many things I appreciate about Springmont. First and foremost, the community. Working side by side with our parents and students as we painted gates, repaired bridges, and trimmed trees was great fun. Secondly, the Landschool itself - what an amazing resource for our school! Our children get to experience nature firsthand with experiences like paddleboarding on our pond, hiking through the woods, identifying plant and animal species, and building shelters out of natural materials. Lastly, the opportunity to give back to the community through volunteer work projects. Projects like this are often part of Landschool trips and Middle School Outdoor Science Education, but this work weekend provided a way for students of all ages (and their parents and caregivers) to participate. 

Our class trips to the Landschool run throughout the school year and provide extraordinary opportunities for our children. As you might imagine, maintaining and updating our facility doesn’t come cheap. Several years ago, updates were made to the group bathrooms and kitchen area. This year, we’d like to use a portion of the money raised through the Springmont Fund to allow us to construct a separate and private single-person bathroom for adults and any children who don’t feel comfortable using the gendered group bathrooms for any reason. We currently have single-person bathrooms in every building on campus and having one at the Landschool provides every community member with an option for a private, non-gendered bathroom.  

I hope you will make your contribution to the Springmont Fund today to help support this and other campus facility and program enhancements we have planned. Together, we create the unique and impactful Springmont experience we know and love, and your financial support makes a world of difference.
