Did you know there is a way to support Springmont for free?

Dear Springmont Community,

Congratulations to Remzije's Toddler Class who won the Pizza Party Challenge!  They can look forward to enjoying pizza with Head of School Elizabeth Lener in December!

As we continue to support our students’ growth and our school’s success through the Springmont Fund, I want to tell you about another way to help our community. The Georgia Tax Credit Scholarship Program offers an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact without costing you an extra cent!

Springmont partners with Apogee Scholarship Fund, a state-approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit SSO, allowing families and businesses to redirect a portion of their Georgia state taxes to support scholarships for Springmont students. By contributing to the Apogee Scholarship Fund and designating Springmont, you can help make Springmont accessible for deserving students who otherwise may not have the means to experience the quality Montessori education we offer.

How It Works:

  • Redirect: Instead of sending all your tax dollars to the state, you can allocate a portion (up to $2,500 for married couples or $1,000 for individuals) to the Apogee Scholarship Fund.
  • Receive: You will receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit against your Georgia state income taxes for the amount you contribute. It’s not a deduction; it’s a credit, meaning your tax liability is reduced by the same amount you donate.
  • Support: Your contribution will go directly towards scholarships that enable students to attend Springmont, making our community even more extraordinary.

Why It Matters:

The Georgia Tax Credit Scholarship Program allows families to choose the best educational path for their children, regardless of financial limitations. By participating, you help additional children benefit from the Springmont student experience.

How to Contribute:

  1. Visit Apogee’s website and fill out the simple online form to make your pledge before December 13th, 2024.
  2. Once approved by the state in January 2025, you’ll have 60 days to make your contribution to the Apogee Scholarship Fund.
  3. When you file your taxes for 2025, you’ll receive a 100% tax credit on your Georgia state income tax return for the amount you contributed, literally dollar for dollar.

The Deadline is Fast Approaching!

The opportunity to participate in this year’s tax credit program is limited; in addition to the December 13th deadline, the state sets a cap on available credits. I encourage you to act quickly to secure your spot and make a real difference in the lives of our students.

Thank you for considering this impactful opportunity. For more information, visit Apogee - GA Tax Credit Scholarship - Springmont School

With sincere gratitude,
Karen Poyser
