Anupa Deshpande

Meet Anupa Deshpande

Hometown: Atlanta, GA 

Anupa earned her Bachelor's degree from Emory University and her Master's from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 

As she transitioned from public to private school in 9th grade, she recalls struggling academically, spending countless lunch periods and afternoons in tutorial sessions with her teachers and a small group of classmates who were also trying to keep up. One classmate stood out. Despite the pressure to succeed, this student approached the curriculum with curiosity, grace, and quiet confidence. He also brought a sense of camaraderie and compassion that made a lasting impression on Anupa. Eventually, she learned that this classmate had come from a Montessori background. When it was time to find a school for her son, Anupa reflected on her own experiences in various educational settings, and memories of her classmates came rushing back. Serendipitously, she heard an advertisement about Springmont on NPR, and the rest is history!

Anupa loves live music, her dad's cooking, and bringing together old and new friends!  

Fun Fact: Anupa was a 4-year varsity soccer player. Her team went to the state championship!
