It's Earth Day!

This morning, all classes joined in our school's 11th annual celebration of Earth Day! Jon gave a brief history of this international day of civic responsibility and shared his 7 favorite ideas for living our school's core value of Stewardship of the Environment. After a moment of silent reflection, everyone joined in a song of peace. Then, representatives from each Elementary class and Middle School read poems or shared meaningful words and thoughts about peace and preserving our planet, and Chris' class sang a catchy song about bees. Finally, students placed seed-paper butterflies and sheets of seed paper with wishes for our planet in the new pollinator garden near the donor sculpture adjacent to the MS Liberal Arts building. The warm sun, the beautiful blue sky and the lovely spring blooms in the Lower Elementary gardens made a perfect backdrop for our Earth Day Celebration! Look for more pictures on Facebook!
