Dear Families,

Whether this is your family’s first year at Springmont or your 10th, welcome to our wonderful community! We are excited to have you here and hope to get to know you well during your child’s educational journey. This past week, as the faculty and staff came together to plan curriculum and prepare classrooms, I was reminded once again of their talent and dedication. We are driven by the important work we do at Springmont, and thank you for trusting us to be your partners. This year, I return to the classroom in addition to my headship duties. As a former science teacher, I am honored to be teaching this subject once again because I know the truth behind Maria Montessori’s words:  "The children of today will make all the discoveries of tomorrow. All the discoveries of mankind will be known to them and they will improve what has been done and make fresh discoveries. They must make all the improvements in houses, cities, communication, methods of production, etc. that are to be made. The future generation must not only know how to do what we can teach them, they must be able to go a step further.”  Our future is in their capable hands, and I have no doubt that their time at Springmont helps prepare them for all that lies ahead.

I hope you will join us on Thursday, August 21, at 6:30 pm for Opening Night! This annual event provides a chance to hear from several of our school leaders and spend time with the teacher(s) and families from your child’s class(es).
