Family Work Weekend & Overnight Opportunity at the Landschool - Sept 20 & 21

We are excited to offer families the opportunity to join our Trustees, Outdoor Education staff, and Head of School in our annual volunteer work weekend at the Landschool! If you are available and interested, please mark your calendars for September 20-21. There are a variety of jobs, ranging from inventory organization to carpentry, trail work, interior painting, landscaping, tree maintenance, and more! You can join for a few hours on either day or plan to come Saturday and spend the night. This is a rain-or-shine family event with work options for most ages/skill levels.

If you would like to participate, please email Upper Elementary Teacher Thomson Chuites by Wednesday, September 17, at 3 pm with your availability and the skills/proficiencies you can offer. Everyone is welcome!

Because we recognize the importance of music and movement in early childhood development, Springmont’s Primary students enjoy music classes with Fine Arts Specialist Ayanna Talton every week. In addition to enhancing spatial awareness and gross motor skills, this fun, small-group opportunity promotes the development of memory, cooperation, concentration, listening skills, and language, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning and academic success. Extraordinary!

As adults, we may be thinking of yesterday's violence and the tragic events of this date 24 years ago, as well as all the troubles our world is currently experiencing. We hope it is at least somewhat comforting to know that Montessori students, particularly those at Springmont, are learning and thriving in a community that values peace and mutual respect.
