Coffee with the Counselors - Sept 17

Welcome back to Coffee with the Counselors, a monthly opportunity for parents/caregivers to join School Counselors Ann Van Buskirk and Katie Polanco for coffee and conversation! Join them on Wednesday, September 17, beginning at 8:45 am, in the counseling office to discuss “Belonging – building community and connection at home and at Springmont.”

All Springmont parents and caregivers are welcome to attend and share ideas about how to cultivate a sense of belonging in children. Please feel free to include any questions or thoughts as you RSVP below.

Because we recognize the importance of music and movement in early childhood development, Springmont’s Primary students enjoy music classes with Fine Arts Specialist Ayanna Talton every week. In addition to enhancing spatial awareness and gross motor skills, this fun, small-group opportunity promotes the development of memory, cooperation, concentration, listening skills, and language, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning and academic success. Extraordinary!

As adults, we may be thinking of yesterday's violence and the tragic events of this date 24 years ago, as well as all the troubles our world is currently experiencing. We hope it is at least somewhat comforting to know that Montessori students, particularly those at Springmont, are learning and thriving in a community that values peace and mutual respect.
