Meet Andrew Gentles

Hometown: Kingston, Jamaica

Andrew earned his Bachelor's in Biological Sciences from Florida International University and his Doctorate in Pharmacy from Howard University College of Pharmacy. He did his residency training at Emory St. Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta and holds a Master's in Public Health, Epidemiology, and Infectious Disease from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Andrew heard about Montessori from friends while living in Washington, DC.  His two daughters enjoy their time at Springmont from both a social/emotional and learning perspective.

Andrew volunteers through Dissipating Disparities, Inc., a non-profit organization founded by his wife in 2012. They host an annual health & community fair focused on providing health & social services across rural communities in middle Georgia. The Gentles family enjoys spontaneous visits to Fernbank Museum and baking banana bread, while Andrew’s personal hobbies include staying functionally fit, Tae-Kwando, and traveling.

Fun Fact: Andrew hiked 6.2 miles up 12,000 feet to enjoy the serenity of Ice Lake in Colorado and is looking forward to tackling his next hike!
