Thanks to the 2019-20 Springmont Fund, eight Springmont faculty members and one administrator attended the AMI-USA Annual Refresher Course in Seattle, Washington, during Presidents’ Day weekend. Alongside “The Child and Nature” theme, keynote speaker Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods, set the tone for the weekend as he discussed his newest book The Wild Calling and the powerful link between nature and the development of the whole child. Our faculty were represented in nearly every workshop track, including Infant/Toddler, Primary, Elementary, Adolescent, and Equity. They are thrilled to bring what they learned back to Atlanta to share with their Springmont colleagues. Thank you to all the generous Springmont Fund donors for this wonderful professional development opportunity.

Yesterday’s Strings Recital was outstanding! Led by Music Teacher Stefanie Freinkel, Elementary and Middle School students delighted parents and guests with selections ranging from folk songs and Suzuki favorites to Bach and Schumann. It was amazing to see and hear how much the last 5 months of hard work and practice have improved the students’ skills and confidence. Bravo!!

Don’t miss this Friday’s Bake Sale, the final one hosted by Nathalie’s Class this school year! Students have been baking industriously and will offer Lemon Brownies, Zucchini Bread, Muffins, Monkey Bread, and Garlic Parmesan Herb Loaves in the Pavilion at 3:00 pm! CASH only, please! Proceeds will be donated to an organization chosen by the students. What could be better than supporting entrepreneurship and philanthropy while enjoying a baked treat?!?
