Springmont Looks Forward to Welcoming Two Authors

Lynn Street will visit with Lower Elementary and Primary Afternoon students on Tuesday, September 30, and Jennifer L. Holm will meet with Upper Elementary students on Tuesday, October 14!

Lynn Street is passionate about writing for curious observers who want to discover the wonders of their world. She believes a connection to nature is the key to joy and caring for the environment. Her writing celebrates nature and invites readers to slow down and explore, to become budding naturalists and citizen scientists. Three-time Newbery Honor winner Jennifer L. Holm is the author of favorites including The Fourteenth Goldfish, Sunny Side Up, Turtle in Paradise, The Lion of Mars, and more! This past Friday evening, families from all three Toddler classes came together for a Potluck Picnic! In addition to enjoying food and conversation with one another, this event enables families with young children to feel connected to each other and the school community, fostering a sense of belonging. Thank you to Room Parents and teachers for organizing this!

Because we recognize the importance of music and movement in early childhood development, Springmont’s Primary students enjoy music classes with Fine Arts Specialist Ayanna Talton every week. In addition to enhancing spatial awareness and gross motor skills, this fun, small-group opportunity promotes the development of memory, cooperation, concentration, listening skills, and language, laying a strong foundation for lifelong learning and academic success. Extraordinary!
