Thank you to all who joined our February 16 Zoom conversation, How to Talk with Your Children about Race, Culture, and Identity. It was a great start to the conversation and left many of us seeking a follow-up opportunity to allow a deeper dive into content, resources, and experiences.  We are delighted to invite parents to continue the dialogue with Dr. Kim and Dr. Ann on Wednesday, March 29, at 4:30 pm. They will host an in-person session, and all are welcome! For those who were able to Zoom in February, we look forward to seeing you again and hope you’ll bring a friend.  If you couldn’t come last month, we are excited to have you join the conversation. 

• All Day Toddler & Primary students may remain in their classrooms.
• Half Day & School Day Toddler & Primary students and all Elementary & Middle School students may be pre-registered for complimentary childcare during the program.

As you know, art is a very important part of the Springmont student experience so we want our families to be aware of the following bittersweet news.

Theresa Dean has let us know that after serving as Springmont’s Art Teacher for 14 years, she has decided to retire at the end of this school year.  We are excited for her to begin this new chapter in her life but will greatly miss her talents, enthusiasm, and passion for children’s art instruction. 

Claire Tadeo, who has worked closely with Theresa for the last 4 years, has accepted our offer to become our next lead Art Teacher. Claire holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Studio Arts, from Georgia College & State University. Many of your children are already familiar with Claire’s gifts for photography, painting, printmaking, and all things creative.

We hope you will join us in wishing Theresa well and congratulating Claire on her new role!

Two of Springmont’s 2019 Middle School grads have earned top honors at their high schools!

Nico Lamps has been named as the 2022-23 STAR Student for Campbell High School! The STAR nomination requires students have the highest score on any single test date of the SAT taken through November of their senior year and be in the top 10% of their class based on grade point average.

Happy Leveson-Jones has been named Salutatorian at North Springs High School! Despite the challenges and disruptions caused by the pandemic, Happy continued to excel and looks forward to the graduation ceremony at Ameris Bank Amphitheatre on May 25!

We are so proud of Nico, Happy, and all of Springmont’s graduates as they continue to distinguish themselves in ways that underscore our mission to nurture self-directed, resilient, and aware human beings.
