Doodle for Google

For centuries, artists have looked at the world around them for inspiration, and recently, Springmont students have been hard at work as they explore what inspires them! Guided by Art Teachers Theresa and Courtney, our Elementary students entered Doodle for Google's 10th anniversary competition. Their entries, submitted March 1, joined thousands of others from around the country. The winner's artwork will be made into an interactive doodle on Google.com as well as qualify the creator for scholarships and prizes. Look for copies of entries to be displayed in the Front Office and on the large bulletin board in the Main Building soon. See which one inspires you!

Congrats to Upper Elementary student Mikhail Shaikh & Middle School student Tabor Shiimi-ya-Shiimi on their winning art entries in the 2025 Georgia River of Words Environmental Art contest. Mikhail’s entry (left), A Deer Among the Giant Sequoia Trees, was created using pencil, crayon, and Sharpie, and was selected as a State Winner. Tabor’s photograph (right) is untitled and was selected as a National Finalist. Springmont is proud to have had winners in this competition 15 of the last 16 years!

Yesterday’s Strings Recital was outstanding! Led by Music Teacher Stefanie Freinkel, Elementary and Middle School students delighted parents and guests with selections ranging from folk songs and Suzuki favorites to Bach and Schumann. It was amazing to see and hear how much the last 5 months of hard work and practice have improved the students’ skills and confidence. Bravo!!
