Annual Meeting of Members & Landschool Picnic

The Springmont School Board of Trustees heartily invites and encourages all members of the Springmont School community to join them for our annual Meeting of Members and Picnic at the newly renovated Landschool on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

The Board will provide hamburgers and veggie burgers together with buns and condiments. Please RSVP using the link in Springmont Weekly News by April 19 and let us know if you prefer hamburgers or veggie burgers. Each family should bring their own side dishes, drinks, desserts, plates, utensils, and picnic blankets and/or folding chairs. Parking will be on the lawn near the Landschool Pavilion, and families will need to walk up the gravel driveway to the Landschool lodge and upper lawn where the picnic will take place. Please dress comfortably for the weather, remembering that North Georgia is often cooler than Atlanta. The Landschool is a rustic environment with woodland paths, a creek, wildlife, etc., so dress for the woods.

As announced at this morning’s Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast, parents Anupa Deshpande (center) and Laura Gibson (right) are our 2024-25 Volunteers of the Year! Both have served our school community in several capacities this year, including on our Strategic Planning Committee, at our Landschool Work Weekend, and as caretakers of our barnyard animals on weekends and during school breaks. Thank you, Anupa and Laura, for your dedication and selfless gifts of time and energy!

After waiting patiently for many days, Livia’s Lower Elementary students were thrilled to see that their butterflies had hatched. Learning about and observing firsthand the life cycle of these beautiful insects, from egg to larva, pupa, and finally to butterfly, is just one of the many ways Springmont students learn about nature, inspiring them to become advocates for the world around them.
