Primary Family Landschool Picnic

Families who have Primary students are invited to join the Primary Teachers for our Primary Family Picnic at Springmont’s Landschool on Saturday, September 14th, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm!

Families from all four Primary classes are invited to meet at Springmont’s Landschool in Summerville, GA, for one big picnic! The property will be open 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 14th. Bring the whole family and a picnic lunch and spend the afternoon exploring the great outdoors and having fun doing our nature scavenger hunt.
Springmont’s beautiful campus in Summerville, GA, offers winding walking trails, a creek bed to explore, a pond where animals can be observed, and a field for free play. There are restrooms in the lodge.

This is an excellent opportunity to introduce your child to the Landschool, which all Elementary students visit for overnight trips with their classes!
In addition to lunch, please make sure to bring sunscreen, insect repellent, plenty of drinking water, and blankets or chairs for your comfort.

On Friday, parents joined students in Brenda’s class garden for an afternoon of fall planting. Gardening is an important part of Springmont’s curriculum, allowing students to learn about botany, measuring, responsibility, patience, and more! Thank you to the parents who generously gave the Gift of Time! Sharing school experiences is a great way to show children that the adults in their lives value them and their education.

Springmont has visitors! Thirteen four-legged weed eaters from Glitzy Goats have been hired to clear the weeds and brush from the retention area behind the Elementary building. Eating for about 16 hours a day, each goat can consume about 10 lbs. of vegetation daily. Not only is this method more environmentally friendly and in keeping with our core value, Stewardship of the Environment, but it’s also cost-effective!
