Food Trucks & Fun at the Springmont Festival & Montessori Mile - October 22!

October 03, 2022
By Julie Strickland

We are so excited to be able to bring back one of our most beloved events – the Springmont Festival & Montessori Mile! All families are invited to join us on campus on October 22. The day begins with a warm-up in the Pavilion at 8:30, followed by one-mile fun runs on Long Island Drive for adults and children 6-14 years and then dashes for younger students (6 and under) on the Field. Don't miss the Food Trucks, Market, Chili Cook-off, and Middle School Festival & Plant Sale, all taking place afterward!

Race Registration:
Middle School students Satti Gray, Samantha Hakerem, and Juliet Martin all contributed to the artwork inspiration for this year's Montessori Mile t-shirt design! All fun run and dash participants and anyone who wants one of the long-sleeved commemorative t-shirts are encouraged to register! Registrations ($25 each) are available here!

Food Trucks, Festival and Market:

• We look forward to hosting Get Out The Whey selling acai bowls and smoothies and Flavor on the Fork selling chicken and waffles.
• Middle School Festival & Plant Sale
• Livia's Class Pesto Sale - $4/jar while supplies last!
• Nathalie's Class will be selling caramel apples and pumpkins made out of vintage books!
• Ellen's Class Bake Sale

Chili Cook-Off!:

• Do you have a great chili recipe? Enter Springmont’s 10th annual Chili Cook-Off for a chance to prove your recipe is Golden Ladle-worthy.  You could win a fabulous prize basket!  Chili of all varieties—black bean, red bean, spicy, mild, chicken, beef, vegetarian, and others are welcome.

Volunteers are still needed! Click here to visit the online sign-up! Already signed up to help? Thank you! Next Tuesday, October 18, at 9 am, we will have a short Zoom training session to orient volunteers and answer questions.

Off-Campus Parking:

  • Please note that all parking is off campus. We are fortunate to have secured a very nearby location – the 6000 Century West lot on Hammond Drive.
  • Shuttles to campus will begin running at 7:15 a.m. and continue until 8:30 a.m. when the warm-up begins. Because Long Island Drive will be closed for our races, the shuttle will not run from 8:30 a.m. until after the road races have concluded at about 9:30 a.m. They will resume making a continuous loop between campus and the lot from 9:30 a.m. until noon.
  • Parking on Long Island Drive is prohibited. Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask that families do not park on side streets or in neighborhoods.
