Application Process

If you are interested in applying to Springmont, please complete the Inquiry Form located here. After the Inquiry Form is submitted, an Admission team member will contact you regarding next steps. In addition to application and school records, a separate parent interview and child interview are required. Completing the application process:

Inquiry Form
  • The first step in the application process is the completion of the online Inquiry Form located here.

  • After the Inquiry Form is submitted, the Admission Office Staff will contact you to schedule an informational tour at Springmont.
  • This tour is for adults only. 

Submit the application
  • Complete the online application form and submit the non-refundable $75 application fee. Applications for the 2016-2017 school year must be completed before February 15. Applications received after that date will be considered after the first round of admission decisions are made.

Request school records
  • Once you have completed the online application, the Director of Admission will send you the following forms as applicable:
    • Transcript release form—Fill out and sign—Give to your child’s current school. (for students 5 yrs. & older)
    • Teacher Recommendation forms—Fill out and sign—Give to your child’s current teacher. (for students 5 yrs. & older)
    • Head of School or Principal Recommendation form—Fill out and sign—Give to your child’s current Head of School, Director or Principal. (for students currently enrolled in any program)

  • Application, fees and required forms must be received by the Admission office before student or parent interviews will be scheduled.
  • Toddler Program (18 months – 3 years old) Your child will have a short visit with the Toddler Teacher prior to his/her first day.  Parents will complete a parent interview.
  • Primary Program (3 - 6+ years old): An interview will be scheduled for your child with the teaching staff. Admittance for Primary students is contingent upon the child being independent in the bathroom and upon school readiness, which is determined by the interviewing teacher. The admission staff will meet with you at another time for the parent interview.
  • Elementary Program (6 - 12 years old): Your child will have a short interview with a member of the faculty. Additionally, your child may be invited to spend a day in an Elementary classroom. You will meet with the admission staff for a parent interview at another time.
  • Middle School Program (12 - 14 years old): Your student will be invited to spend a day in the Middle School. Parent interviews are conducted by the admission and teaching staff at another time. Our Middle School is a two year program with admittance being offered only at 7th grade.
In keeping with AAAIS guidelines, notification of admission determination will be mailed the 1st Friday in April.

  • Where do students matriculate when they leave Springmont?

    Springmont graduates and alumni matriculate to their choice of Atlanta’s competitive public and private schools and beyond. They regularly attend Galloway, Pace, Woodward Academy, Paideia, Westminster, Riverwood IB, Lovett, Marist, Holy Innocents’, Blessed Trinity, the Epstein School and more. Following high school graduation, our alumni have attended Stanford, Dartmouth, Vanderbilt, Johns Hopkins, Emory, Howard, Georgetown, University of Miami, Colgate, University of the South, Appalachian State, Georgia Institute of Technology and the University of Georgia, among others. Their choices are as unique and diverse as the students themselves.
